A fully capable Project Implementation Unit (PIU), headed by the Project Director, has been established to build KWSC’s long-term capacity to plan and manage major, externally financed interventions. This unit primarily consists of existing and permanent KWSC staff. To mitigate weaknesses in certain specialized areas, KWSSIP has also recruited selected consultants to the PIU to strengthen project preparation and implementation.
